10 years is our response time...NOT the ice-melt time
Remember, while we may have only 10 years to turn the climate change supertanker around, the effects of what happens in the next ten years can continue to contribute to changes, such as sea-level rise, over the course of centuries. This is because of certain climate "tipping points". Like turning the refrigerator dial to "defrost," not much happens at first... but come back hours later and see all the ice on your floor.
